- Controls all works relating to mud logging, well logging and MWD/LWD activities checking their accuracy and conformity with the service rendered. - preparation of the geological program - define the drilled lithostratigraphic sequence; - identify and log the formation fluid shows; - control the drilling operations in real time; - Identify the presence of overpressure zones in good time. - control cutting, core and fluid sampling and analysis; - drilling data analysis; - giving a lithological-fluid core description; - checks all wireline logging equipment - checks the preliminary interpretation - Analyses interpretations with Petrophysicist and Geology Team and discusses the results with the Operation Geology Section Head. - carries out a well wireline or while drilling log initial qualitative evaluation and defines the points listed below, on the basis of reference well correlations as well: - lithological sequence; - formation and/or main levels tops; - hydrocarbon bearing levels or levels with hydrocarbon shows - wireline testing operations - participate in work over operations (correlations packer setting depth, casing/tubing perforation, fishing jobs, killing well) - sending and distributing geological documents in the office

- evaluating offset data before the start of drilling - analysing, evaluating and describing formations while drilling, using cuttings, gas, formation evaluation measurement while drilling (FEMWD) and wireline data - comparing data gathered during drilling with predictions made at the exploration stage - advising on drilling hazards and drilling bit optimisation - taking full responsibility for making decisions about suspending or continuing drilling - advising operations personnel on-site and in the operations office - acting, in effect, as the representative of the oil company geology team - supervising mudlogging, FEMWD and wireline services personnel and monitoring quality control in relation to these services - keeping detailed records, writing reports, completing daily, weekly and post-well reporting logs and sending these to appropriate departments - maintaining up-to-date knowledge of measuring while drilling (MWD) tools, such as gamma and resistivity, as geosteering becomes increasingly important - communicating regularly with operations offices - teamwork with petroleum engineers on production wells (hydraulic fracturing and acid treatment, manage the interface between the reservoir and the well through tasks such as perforations, artificial lift, downhole flow control and downhole monitoring equipment, work with surface equipment that separates the produced fluids)
