Regional medical coordinator

Responsibilities

- Represents the Organization with universities, medical and scientific institutions, representatives and parties. Supports the Director of the office in the global engagement activities with officials of the Russian Federation.

-Promotes opportunities to increase the medical and scientific cooperation, engages at conferences and congresses, with scientific institutions, universtities, and other official bodies to promote the social mission of MSF through cooperation in the sphere of Medicine and Science

-Supports the Field HR function and provides medical leadership and support to the Pool of Russia speaking staff. Supports during the selection process of international staff;

-Provides medical support to staff members by briefing, debriefing and being available during for staff while in international assignments of in between missions. Supports the staff of the office when medical attention is required

-Provides medical support in case of advert events, and organizes and follows up the process to repatriate staff, and accompany through processes and procedures while in Russia.

-Liaises with the appropriate bodies within the Organizations to support the MSF social mission and all the activities of the different bodies that may require the support from the Medical and Scientific Function of the MSF.

Requirements:

Education

Medical Doctor, specialist in either Infectious diseases, Gynecology, Anaestesiology, Surgeon, Paediatrics or other relevant for the contexts where MFS Opertaes; diploma in Tropical medicine.

PHD or Professorship are very welcomed and highly valued in phase of selection.

Experience

Experience in Research and scientific cooperation, pubblication of articles, posters, researches; familiarity with the Academia, its mechanisms and etiquette

MSF Field Experience is required in different contexts (Africa, MENA region, EECA, etc.) and programs (primary health care, epidemics, emergency management, mental health, etc.)

Desirable: previous work experience with MSF or a similar medical or humanitarian organizations

Languages

Russian Citizen or fluent in Russian language (C2) with work permit in Russia.

Speaks English (C1 or above); other languages used in areas of operation (French, Arabic, Spanish) also at lower level are highly valued.

Knowledge

• Clear understanding of Russian political and NGO environment with the capacity to provide strategic advice to colleagues
• Computer literacy as expected for the position at hand

• Travel

• Ability to travel in Russia, Belarus, and abroad is required.
