Aramco Research Center – Moscow is offering great job opportunities for a technical specialist with multidisciplinary background in applied mathematics and numerical modeling. This position is intended to fill the niche in the development of novel virtual multiphase metering technologies, which are focused on the intensive application of applied mathematics, numerical multiphase flow modeling and data analytics techniques.
Key functions and responsibilities:
- Develop inverse problem solutions with significant data uncertainty;
- Deal with time-series data analysis and forecasting;
- Apply domain knowledge and expertise to solve industrial problems by leveraging data-driven and/or digital scientific intensive solutions for data processing, interpretation and control;
- Actively participate in digital solution development projects and proactively use technical expertise to support research development in the area of applied mathematics, data analytics and numerical modeling
- Assess next-generation technologies for data-driven modeling and optimization of data-driven interpretation processes;
- Generate innovative ideas, establishes new research directions related to data-driven inverse problem solutions;
- Maintain state-of-art knowledge and contribute to technical evaluation and reviews as an expert in the related areas of responsibility;
- Support and facilitate a seamless transfer and integration of developed technology in real-time monitoring platform at end-user location;
- Cooperate with field operation customers, petroleum specialists, data scientist and software developers for adding new functionalities and options in the developed product;
- Follow company requirements for digital process development, new technology documentation and technical reporting
Key technical skills and competencies:
- Preferable MSc or PhD in science, physics, mathematics or related fields
- Hands on experience in data-driven inverse problem solutions;
- Experience with mathematical modelling and data processing. Implementation of the model equations, C/C++ code, MATLAB scripts or other associated tools;
- Knowledge on numerical methods for PDE solution, optimal control theory and multiparametric optimization;
- A plus:
- Experience and knowledge in multiphase flow metering R&D or innovative production technology development;
- Hands on experience in operation with large quantities of time-series data;
- Hands on experience with commercial and/or open-source physics-based numerical simulators
