The position of Physics Teacher reports to the Head of Upper and Senior School. The teacher of Physics is required to create a positive and supportive learning environment and develop activities so that students are able to practice in a meaningful context. The successful candidate will be expected to deliver Science to MYP and DP students with a range of different abilities and capabilities.
Essential Requirements:
- Fully Qualified Teacher with expertise in teaching and assessment of the relevant subject;
- Degree in Physics or a related field;
- Commitment to the values and approaches of an IB education;
- Fluent verbal and written communication skills in English;
- Expectations of high standards of learning and behaviour from students; and the ability to challenge and support all students on an individual basis;
- Compliant with Child Safeguarding Requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Plan, design, prepare and deliver high quality lessons to suit the individual needs of all students in line with the Programme;
- Assess and monitor student progress and provide targets so that all learners can see success and improve;
- Take into account the different ability levels of students and differentiate work;
- Communicate effectively and professionally with parents and carers, including reporting on pupil progress and attainment, and updating parents;
- Promote a safe working environment for students and staff, including inside and outside duties with a high level of awareness of children all around you;
- Contribute to the extra-curricular activity programme (Brookes Plus) and participate in school activities such as assemblies, evening events, and open day
