Lead Ops / Operations Team Lead

BostonGene is a pioneer company that uses biomedical software to identify new and personalized treatment options with next-generation multi-platform analytics, improving and optimizing cancer patient outcomes. We develop a distributed information and analytical system that provides oncologists with the necessary data for diagnosis and personalized treatment of patients.

We recently moved our Moscow office (400+ employees) to Yerevan and are looking for candidates to work from Armenia.

Who we are looking for:

The Operations Team owns the Infrastructure Platform built on AWS Amazon services. The Infrastructure Platform is a crucial part of the BostonGene Cloud Platform. The Operations Team Lead will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing operations processes and services to ensure a high level of efficiency and customer satisfaction of BostonGene Cloud Infrastructure Platform. This role requires strong organizational and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to lead a team of platform engineers.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Facilitate communication between team members and other departments to ensure collaboration and alignment on projects and goals

• Develop and implement operations and maintenance processes, regiments, procedures and required toolset

• Oversee daily operations within the team, ensuring tasks are allocated efficiently and completed according to schedule

• Handle conflict resolution within the team, mediating disputes and implementing solutions to prevent future issues

• Implement and monitor KPIs to evaluate individual and team productivity and quality of work

• Review and optimize operational processes and procedures to increase efficiency and reduce costs

• Manage the day-to-day operations including vacation planning and support shifts

• Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulation

• Recruiting new team members (with help of HR), conducting interviews, and selecting candidates that fit the team’s needs

• Adaptation, training and coaching of new team members

Requirements and Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience in similar position

• Experience in management of team up to 10 engineers

• Excellent leadership and communication skills

• Fluent speaker in both Russian and English

• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

• Strong experience in Atlassian Jira Project (workflow) configuration to track team progress

• Strong experience in conducting knowledge base in Atlassian Confluence

• Experience with AWS Amazon Services and Kubernetes will be an added advantage
