Junior Lawyer / a Lawyer (Maritime Law, Shipping)

We are looking for a Junior Lawyer / a Lawyer in the Legal Department for our client. This is a Leading Petrochemical Shipping & International Commodity Trading Group.

You will do:

• Participating in corporate support (preparing different sorts of corporate documentation, liaising with the corporate secretaries, banks, other official bodies and entities on all on going corporate issues, assistance in other related corporate matters);
• Performing due diligence and counterparties’ KYC compliance procedures;
• Participating in providing legal assistance to the commodity trading team and to the marine shipping team on all on-going matters;
• Legal support in registration of vessels processes (preparing the documentation as per the vessel’s flag requirements, coordination of the process, negotiations with the flag/registration agents);
• Drafting, reviewing different transactions in accordance with the particulars of the business activities performed by the group (under the English and Russian law);
• Liaising with the treasury team on all ongoing matters, where legal team’ assistance is required;
• Legal assistance in claims negotiations on different shipping and trading matters (demurrages, deviations, quantity and quality of goods claims, etc.);
• Participating in other business matters as per the Head of legal instructions.

Required Qualifications/Personal Attributes:

• Bachelor’s or master degree, preferably in international, maritime, commercial law;
• The candidate must have qualification and at least 1-3 years of professional experience at international commodities sales, maritime, corporate law, Russian civil law;
• Excellent analytical capabilities, as well as problem-solving skills, are a must have;
• Must have an ability to handle multiple tasks as well as strong organizational skills;
• Must have an inquisitive mindset with strong desire to learn new subjects and disciplines;
• High level of proficiency in English & Russian (both written and oral);
• Good computer skills.
