Primary Job Function:
To lead and manage the Innovation & Development (I&D) Product Design and Development (PDD) Technology Transfer Projects in Russia.
The Senior Scientist Technical Transfer, within (PDD) in Veropharm in Abbott Established Pharmaceutical Division (EPD) is responsable for the I&D PDD tech trasfer activities at the receiving manufacturing sites in Russia. The job has a role to mentor and coach junior scientists and to be flexible to cover additional technical transfer tasks, such as formulation and analytical support as required. The job has a focus to guarantee the products developed at the PDD Centers of Excellence will be transfered to Russian manufacturing sites.
The job provides leadership, process improvements and product know-how that drives a portfolio of product development projects to enable the future sales and profitability of the EPD. The job requires the management of external partners that participate in the technical transfer process.
Core Job Responsibilities:
- Participate in prototype development and provide inputs to design the analytical method development and formulation manufacturing process keeping scale up in mindset.
- Participate in the Global I&D technical transfer executions, procedures and manage standards.
- Join, support & contribute to the chemistry, manufacturing and control (CMC) work stream during Technical Transfers (Prototype to Registration batch). Represent the project team for secondary and subsequent transfers.
- Ensures high quality science and technology and deliverables ensuring compliance with respective regulatory and quality requirements.
- Responsible for technical transfer executions and manages technical activities in collaboration with MS&T and or manufacturing operations during the technical transfer process.
- Guarantee the sending sites and the receiving sites are aligned in terms of technology, size, equipment able to manufacture and test the products at both sides.
- Strong communication between technical teams in the Centers of Excellence (sending sites) and receiving sites.
- Control the technical transfer projects.
- Track and maintain the projects timely. Pursue the target dates according PDD objectives for tech transfer projects.
- Manage the use of strategies, resources and process to improve the Global technical transfer process efficiency (Analytical and Formulations).
- Serves as a scientific expert for tech. transfer projects (analytical expert majorly and represent the formulation dosage form tech. transfer or vice versa as and where required)
Supervisory/Management Responsibilities:
- Represents PDD within project teams.
- Ability to mentor other scientists.
- Maintains relationships and can work with Contract Research Organizations (CROs).
Position Accountability/Scope:
- Reports to the Director Product Development EPD.
- Supports formulation and process science within I&D and MS&T.
Minimum Education:
- Bachelor of Science degree in a scientific discipline (e.g. chemistry, pharmacy, biology). Ideally a higher degree such as a master’s degree or a Ph. D in a related discipline.
Minimum Experience/Training Required:
- Relevant demonstrated experience in a related scientific discipline showing an ability to develop and tech transfer analytical test methods for product development. Ability to represent PDD within multifunctional project teams.
