We are seeking a highly skilled Analyst/Consultant, preferably with a background in consultancy and the exploration and mining industry, to provide strategic advisory and financial analysis on investment opportunities. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in asset valuation and management for both greenfield and brownfield mining projects.
This role requires the ability to analyze large datasets and conduct in-depth evaluations of mining assets, highlighting crucial information and ensuring data-driven recommendations that align with business objectives. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in assessing potential market entry strategies and investment feasibility.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive financial and technical analyses of projects (focus on exploration and mining).
- Evaluate investment opportunities and strategic entry into new projects.
- Utilize NPV, IRR, and other valuation methodologies to assess project viability.
- Perform due diligence on assets (focus on exploration and mining), analyzing geological, financial, and operational data.
- Develop financial models and investment scenarios to support decision-making.
- Provide insights on market trends, commodity pricing, and regulatory frameworks impacting the mining industry.
- Prepare detailed reports, presentations, and risk assessments for senior management and stakeholders.
- Work with large-scale datasets, ensuring accuracy and relevance in financial forecasting.
Qualifications & Experience
- Professional Experience: A minimum of 3 years in asset valuation, financial analysis, business development (focus on exploration and mining).
- Industry Expertise: Strong knowledge of mining project evaluation, risk assessment, and feasibility studies.
- Financial Proficiency: Demonstrated experience with IRR, NPV, discounted cash flow (DCF) analysis, and asset valuation methodologies.
- Data Analytics: Proven ability to work with large and complex datasets, interpreting financial, geological, and operational data.
- Consulting Experience: Previous experience at a Big Four consulting firm (Deloitte, PwC, EY, or KPMG) is desirable.
- Language Proficiency: Fluent English is required; additional language skills are an advantage.
- Technical Skills: Expertise in financial modeling, Excel, Power Point.
